I have visited Amsterdam 4 times. Once for a 5 hour layover, another time for a weekend getaway with a girlfriend, the third a weekend getaway with my boyfriend to see the Tulip Festival, and once for a 3.5 day solo trip. Every time I visit Amsterdam, I experience something new. There are so many things you can do if you only have 24 hours in Amsterdam. Make sure, as always, to find a mix of sightseeing and observation, of guided tours and monuments and museums and magical experiences. Here are 5 ways you can have an Amsterdam 1 Day Itinerary! Amsterdam 1 Day Itinerary Option #1: The Wanderer Walk the Canals One of the best things to do in Amsterdam is to wander the streets, admiring all of the canals and houses. Those delicious ginger-bread row-homes are just too perfect for words. The houses tilt forward, like small children, arms…

About the Workouts at a Weight Loss Thailand Retreat The workouts at a weight loss Thailand retreat are no joke. My first few days at Lamai Fitness, I was fighting back tears during Every. Single. Workout. And after the workout, I could physically not get off the floor of my room because I was so exhausted, and everything hurt so badly. My first day at Lamai was particularly bad. The basic day, Monday through Friday, consisted of three workouts a day: a cardio session, a yoga and stretch session, and a weights session. On Saturdays, there was a weights session and a yoga session, and we were encouraged to do some kind of light cardio on our own. Sunday was a day of rest. Which I usually spent exploring different parts of the island. All together I lost about 15-16 pounds in three weeks at Lamai (or around 7 kilos)…

The First Day at Lamai Fitness: This is no Joke It was my first day at Lamai Fitness, a health retreat Thailand and I’m hiking. And as I climb up this mountain I wonder: what exactly did I get myself into? I’ve never seen such a steep upward incline, and two members of my group are talking easily as they make their way up. I, on the other hand, am heaving and on the verge of sobbing as a few tears sneak out of my eyes. I hate this. And, it is only my first day at Lamai Fitness. “Come on Kelly, you can do it” my trainer Caroline yells, and I want to kill her. “Take deep breaths, let your breath go all the way out” she instructs. Which in hindsight was good advice, because I was at the point of hyperventilating. I think I romanticized this whole trip to…

A Magical Experience: The Beer Spa Prague I had never heard of the beer spa Prague experience before. It was not my first trip to Prague- I had been to Prague before, and had admired the history and the architecture, imagining myself in some adult version of Disney World. I was excited to go back to Prague and see the picturesque city again. But, I wanted to try something new, and different this trip. It was my boyfriend that ultimately found this cool excursion in Prague. Prague’s Beer Spa combined his love of beer with my love of spas. What could go wrong? What is a Beer Spa? I didn’t know that beer spas were a thing in many countries around the world. But Prague is the home of the concept and we actually visited the original spa. Their link is here if you would like to visit the spa…
